Lucknow: On the occasion of the birthday of the PM Narendra Modi, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Shodhpeeth, run by the Department of Social Work, Lucknow University, inaugurated the Ujjwal Bachpan Unnat Gram Abhiyan, a festival of “service and education”, by the Vice Chancellor, Lucknow University, Lucknow, Prof. Alok Kumar Rai at the Anganwadi Center of Bakshi Ka Talab, Village Sonwa, Development Block, Lucknow. Bhau Rao Deoras Peeth under the Commerce Department of Lucknow University also participated in it.
Addressing the children in the program, Lucknow University Vice Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai said that this program was organized in continuation of the convocation ceremony held in the university, under which the university administration has personally appeared among the children to meet the children who could not reach the university.
Praising the various cultural programs presented by the children such as poetry recitation, dance, speech etc., the Vice Chancellor said that the activities performed by small children are very charming. The unwavering love of children for the Prime Minister shows their devotion and the feeling of patriotism in children.
The Vice Chancellor celebrated the birthday of the Prime Minister with the children by cutting a cake with enthusiasm. In the same sequence, the Vice Chancellor also had lunch with the children in the primary school.
Posters and the book Navankur of Ujjwal Bachpan Unnat Gram Abhiyan, launched by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Chancellor Anandiben Patel in the 67th convocation of the university, were distributed among the teachers of the school.
The Vice Chancellor invited the children to the university campus and boosted their morale. In the program, the picture of the Prime Minister made by the children of the primary school was given as a gift to the Vice Chancellor.
Addressing the children, Prof. Rakesh Dwivedi, Director of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shodhpeeth, said that 5 villages have been adopted by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shodhpeeth, under which the goal of their all-round development has been set. The program is an initiative by the university administration towards discharging its institutional social responsibility among the children. Dr Dwivedi assured that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Research Centre will keep organizing various activities with the children of the adopted village throughout the year.
Both the Research Centres distributed bicycles, school bags, copies, books and other sports material among the children at the Anganwadi Centre. The vote of thanks was given by Prof Ram Milan, Director and Head of Commerce Department of Bhau Rao Deoras Peeth.
In the said programme, Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University Prof Manuka Khanna, Prof Rupesh Kumar and other administrative officials including University teachers, teachers of various primary and pre-secondary schools and 200 children were present.
